10 October 2018
Aviation Today reports that Insitu unveiled a new UAV, the Alticam-14, which has “video imaging capability high enough in quality to positively identify people from the air.” According to Insitu Director of Defense Programs Keith Hirschman, speaking Tuesday at the Association of the US Army’s annual convention, the enhanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities will be available for the Integrator, Integrator extended range, and RQ-21A Blackjack UAVs. Hirschman “said that the Alticam-14 is better than a 9 on the national imagery interpretability rating scale (NIIRS).” (Image: Scan Eagle UAV. Credit: U.S. Navy | Wikipedia)
